Version 3.0.1
Current Version
Fixed some bugs that would cause problems when learning.

Version 3.0
Previous Version

SmartCard 3.0 brings a lot of smaller and bigger changes, here are the most important ones:

Better Learning
The learning screen has been redesigned. Text on cards now adapts to how much text is on the card (gets bigger if there is less on the card). If you drag cards up or down, the speed of dragging changes how fast the card disappears. Learning with or without keyboard is now possible on iPhone and iPad. Learning with an external keyboard works without you ever having to touch the screen.

Improved card adding
Cards can be created by looking terms up on Wikipedia or dict.cc, or any other site you specify. The text from websites can be added to the question or answer directly by selecting it.

Improved Import
CSV Import now previews the entire file and handles different file formats better. Teachmaster Import handles foreign languages better. Additionally, the SmartCard file format has been simplified.

Version 2.1
Previous Version

SmartCard 2.1 integrates Quizlet, an online service that allows you to import flashcards from the Internet, and adds some smaller features. Check out the full list of changes below.

Online Services
  • Tap the plus button in the groups list and select ‘Download’. Select ‘Quizlet’ and enter a search term, for example ‘Spanish Basics’. Tap any of the results to see a preview of the cards in this group and tap ‘Download’, to save the group to the device.

Import & Export
  • It’s now possible to open Teachmaster files from Mail.
  • Improved CSV Export.

Learning
  • Added an option to the learn settings to turn off shuffling of cards.

Data
  • Added the ability to move cards to different groups. To do so, either tap a card or tap edit in the list of cards.

Miscellaneous

  • Fixed a bug that could cause a crash when splitting lessons

Version 2.0.1
Previous Version

This update adds Copy-To-Definition and addresses some minor issues.

Copy-To-Definition
  • When adding vocabulary flashcards, you can now (again) touch and hold on links and select copy. The selected text will be inserted as the definition of the card you looked up.

Import & Export
  • SmartCard now also supports CSV files that use tabs to separate columns (instead of commas). SmartCard should automatically detect whether the file uses commas or tabs.
  • Fixed CSV import crashing when there were no lines
  • Fixed CSV import crashing when some lines were longer than others

Learning
  • Cards now appear with rounded corners when learning

Translation
  • Fixed some typos in the German translation

The app has been rewritten from scratch. Below is a list of the biggest changes. Please contact smartcard@me.com with questions, suggestions or problems.
